As a part of a new initiative to sustainably grow our programs throughout NYC, Bent On Learning’s upcoming training will split into two borough-specific tracks. This training is open to all yoga teachers and educators — with scholarship opportunities available to yoga teachers and educators who live and/or work in Staten Island and the Bronx.

Our current training is now in progress — details on our Fall weekend workshops are outlined below, as well as the scholarship requirements for participants.

BOL 1: Foundations – $650.00

September 9th-11th @ Bent On Learning (26 Broadway, 8th floor, NY NY 10004)

3-day workshop includes: Bent On Learning Teaching Methodology and Curriculum; Guest Lecture Series with experts in classroom management, the science behind yoga, developmental anatomy, working with special needs students and diverse populations.

BOL 2: Yoga for Primary School – $450.00

October 15-16th @ PS 214 – 1970 West Farms Road, Bronx

October 22-23rd @ Bent On Learning (26 Broadway, 8th floor, NY NY 10004)

Two day workshop to: Explore developmental issues (physical, cognitive, social-emotional) specific to students in this age group; Learn and teach age-appropriate yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation to engage Primary School students; Design effective lesson plans following the BOL curriculum.

BOL 3: Yoga for Middle and High School – $450.00

December 3-4th @ PS 214 – 1970 West Farms Road, Bronx

December 10-11th @ Bent On Learning (26 Broadway, 8th floor, NY NY 10004)

Two day workshop to: Explore developmental issues (physical, cognitive, social-emotional) specific to students in this age group; Learn and practice age-appropriate yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation to engage Middle and High School students; Design effective lesson plans following the BOL curriculum.

Scholarship Opportunities:

For Bronx and Staten Island-based yoga teachers:  Trainees who commit to teaching 30 seva hours in Bent On Learning partners schools will receive a full scholarship for this training (3 weekend workshops + classroom observations, small group work and mentorship). You will be eligible to receive your Yoga Alliance Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) certificate with all completed coursework.

For Bronx and Staten Island-based educators: All school staff are welcome to attend our weekend workshops at no cost. Classroom teachers will be paired with a local yoga teacher from our training who will provide yoga for your classroom beginning in January 2017.

School teachers are also eligible for graduate-level professional development credits (Details)
