6.20.2016. BOL at Solstice Times Square – Registration Open!

image (1)
Join Bent On Learning as we participate this year in Solstice in Times Square: Mind Over Madness Yoga on Monday, June 20th! BOL will be attending the 5:30 class with teachers, students, families and friends from our community. Sign up + donate to support our yoga programs in NYC schools.

We are honored to be a charity partner of this event for the fourth year, along with three other fantastic yoga charities, Exhale to Inhale, Liberation Prison Yoga and Urban Zen. As the Solstice yoga classes are free, consider making a donation equal to the amount you would normally pay for a yoga class.  Every $9 gives a child a yoga class.

Thanks again to the Times Square Alliance for highlighting the work of these important organizations and for your continued support!

dr-ashBWThis year we honor the late Dr. Richard Ash, long time friend and supporter of Bent On Learning, who devoted his life to working with individuals who had been misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and were tired of being sick. Through his practice at The Ash Center for Comprehensive Medicine and his radio show Sick & Tired of Being Sick & Tired he helped over 25,000 people find relief from chronic illness.  His work of empowering patients to heal and attain health and happiness mirrors Bent On Learning’s mission to teach kids how to be healthier and happier in learning and life.

3.1.2016. Teen Classes Start At Kula Brooklyn!

Yoga for Teens (1)

We’re excited to announce free classes for teens at Kula Brooklyn — who have generously donated their space for our teens to practice yoga with trained BOL instructors, giving teens an opportunity to bring their practice out of the classroom (or take their first yoga class!), meet and share their experiences with other teen yogis.  Tuesday classes are led by Karen Patterson and Sundays with Sinikiwe Dhliwayo.

Interested in donating your space for BOL classes, workshops or trainings? Reach out to our Program Director, Kristen Lalka at kristenl@bentonlearning.org or 917.545.8437.

Limited Edition Yoga Mat: Manduka + Ryan McGinness

The limited edition Ryan McGinness PRO Mat was designed to inspire creativity both in practice and in life but it also serves a much higher purpose. With each PRO mats purchased, Manduka will donate two yoga classes to support our yoga program in New York City public schools.

Ryan-McGinness1

The abstract female silhouette is part of Ryan’s iconic “Women Series” and positively flows off the classic dark blue mat right into our open hearts. And while the design is new, everything else you love about the PRO is still there including an unparalleled density, performance grip and a lifetime guarantee. Already our most supportive mat, this limited edition mat truly embodies the spirit of the practice by supporting the next generation of yogis.

Buy a mat. Give yoga.

ALL KIDS DESERVE TO THRIVE IN THE CLASSROOM
#IamBentOnLearning

This month, in support of health and happiness for the 1.1 million New York City public school children during their summer break, Bent On Learning is launching a new campaign to amplify our voice about the important benefits of yoga for kids from grades PreK through 12.  We are striving to grab the attention of more parents, educators and leaders who shape our educational system and impact the social and emotional well-being of our future generation.
